So Banky W and Adesua got engaged sometime in February, announced it on Instagram by wednesday, May 3rd 2017 and the internet has been shaking since then. They literally took over the Nigerian internet space, they broke the internet.
However, this post is not about the two love birds [even though I still find it hard to believe], this post is rather inspired by Banky W’s comment to his ‘susu’ [I first heard this word in uni where a friend of mine calls another friend of mine his susu’m].
The comment is “I fell in love with an actress, now my life is a movie” and when I visited twitter, I saw a thread of I fell in love with’s. Later again this afternoon, I visited Instagram and the same thread was everywhere. So I thought, why not collate this and make a poem? I do not know who to actually give credit to but I give it to all who made a comment here and there on this topic and the initial commentator “Banky W”. Thank You. So here goes…

PS: Do you have any other to add? I know I left out some professions, I just couldn’t get the right pun for them. Do you have any pun words for an Estate Manager? A Professor? A Disc Jockey [DJ], a Bartender? They both create mixes, yes?

Do you have a blog site already? If no, I suggest you open a free blog site on WordPress…it is quite easy to create.
If you do have a blog site, I suggest you begin to post anything relatable, inspirational, educational, fictional etc. depending on where your writing interest lies.
Focus on quality as you do so, not quantity…with time, your content quantity will grow you won’t be able to stop it.
Try to engage your readers. Give them something interesting to feed on, weekly or monthly. Try to keep a constant pace.
Blogging may look fun but it is sometimes too engaging and difficult. It takes passion, motivation and interest to keep on.
Try to read other blogs and see how they write, what they talk about, how they insert pictures in their post.
Are you looking to do picture essays, Fictional stories, Memoirs, Journals, Travel diary, Food reviews, Fashion styles etc.?
If you are sure on the direction to take, then I doubt it will be hard for you to place your fingers on your laptop keyboard and tap away.

Maybe I will do a post for that.
However, I suggest you start with a free platform like WordPress. It is pretty much better than the other blog sites like Blogger et al.
This will allow you to experiment or play around with what you actually want to do while seeing it visually.
There are a few themes you can work with to customize your site to your taste. Keep in mind, some of the themes are price-tagged.
Think of a domain name that best describes your blog site as well; make sure it is easy to search for and easy to pronounce.
Be active on all social media platforms to enable you advertise your blog site…this is handy for future purposes as I see you want to consider a payment option. Try to build traffic for your site i.e. engaging constant readers, so that when you finally opt for the paid option, it will be easier to drag people to read your content.
I am sure that once you start a free WordPress site, you will get a hang of it as the day goes by.
You may also want to try engaging in free blogging and web-hosting courses; this is not entirely a major requirement but like anything in life, if you want to be good at something, you have to invest your time, skills and most times, money to get professional training. Why? Because becoming a good and/or professional blogger is far more difficult than it looks. You need to learn how to build an audience, you need to learn how to use social media, you need to learn how to market your blog site and advertise as well as a lot of other things. Gradually, the money will come.
Note however, that you can learn everything on your own. But from my personal experience, it will take a very very long time, with plenty of frustrations along the way. The choice is yours to make.
